Police Officer of the Year Simon Schembri was today promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant during a brief ceremony at the Police Headquarters.
Sergeant Schembri was given the promotion since despite being the victim of a hit and run while carrying out his duties last May, he was an inspiration to his colleagues and also took the initiative to set up The Simon Schembri Blue Light Foundation with the aim of helping others.
